Tic-Tac-Toe

White House clap and claim, “Checkmate!”
While Brexiteers boot out spies.
Chinese brave new tariff rates.
Who is winning? What’s the prize?

This is my second take today on the Tanaga prompt, a heptasyllabic four-liner with a Tagalog origin. Frankly I’m quite amused by the celebrative mood in the West over the “thawing” with North Korea, when, clearly, the latter will have little to concede. On the other hand, one might even praise the farcical dictatorship’s diplomatic prowess for playing well beyond its class.
