Fallen Leaves of Spring

The verdant glory shed
And drizzled the dirt
Where the years littered
The foliage did hurt
For where it stood true
The trail now was skewed
I thus the distance gauged
And my pathway reviewed
Although the winds kept jeering
I owed them gratitude

Note: A 44-word quadrille containing the word “drizzle”, prompted by dVerse’s Quadrille #30, on a day when reality had betrayed its season.

Winds of change are upsetting, but somehow they take us where we need to go.
Thanks for joining in with the prompt. 🙂
