Ebbs and flows of cotton waves
Laces round her lofty crown
Sweeping down azure nave
Silky train of Gaia’s gown
Awestruck mortals congregate
Hearts in tune with timeless chants
Burdens laid by Heaven’s gate
Raptured into cosmic dance
Colin Lee
Note: Inspired by dVerse’s Meet the Bar with Impressionism, I recalled the divine experience I had atop the snow-capped Jade Dragon Mount in Yunnan (as pictured) … and got myself bizarrely carried away from the suggested theme of impressionism! Nevertheless, it was jolly good fun crafting this metrically smooth poem.
I liked the meter and rhyme and idea of laying one’s burdens at Heaven’s gate.

Thanks, Frank! It is always a heavenly blessing to be humbled by nature’s marvels, isn’t it?

Colin, so happy to meet you here at dVerse with this wonderful impressionistic poem that so represents this slice of almost-heaven that you chose. Hope to see a lot of your work inthe future.
